What would you choose: start a new app with a new strategy, or boost your existing apps with distribution?
I've been thinking about this a lot lately.
The obvious trap with starting a new app is that the challenge will be — again — distribution. You're not escaping the problem, you're just resetting it from zero.
So maybe the smarter question isn't "new app or distribution?" The smarter question is: for which app is distribution the easiest?
For me, two honest criteria matter when picking what to build.
First — I should actually like the problem space. Not love it, but like it enough to stay with it for 12 months when traction is slow.
Second — will I use it myself? It's not a requirement. There are smart people building products they never use. But if you don't use it, you need to be close to the community and talk to users obsessively instead.
And above both of those: can I reach the audience without paid ads?
I don't have a clean answer yet. Maybe the right move is to double down on what's already moving. Maybe it's worth starting fresh with distribution in mind from day one. Maybe both can run in parallel.
